PoliciesForAll

Hello and welcome to Policies For All.

This community is for developing policies that can generally be enacted at any level on government so that an individual (like you) can effect change. The policies are aimed to reduce corruption, improve bottom-up power, add/improve services, reduce financial waste, etc.

Generally the policies are designed to be a little boring so that a strong opposition won’t develop against them. They are also aimed to have a financial incentive, so that communities would have more funds after implementing the policy than before, without a reduction in services. The increased funds should enable the policies to be enacted easier (offering to free up funds isn’t expected to be a hard sell).

I have a number of policies planned or already written up that I’ll be posting over the next couple weeks. I encourage you to help critique them (constructively) and come up with some of your own.

If your interested in getting one or some of these policies implemented where you live and want some help, feel free to through up a post or DM me. The sidebar also contains ways to implement policies in increasing order of difficulty. I plan to reach out to a city council member I’ve spoken to a couple times to see if I can get some of these policies implemented (after I write them all up).

Policies Planned (Name – Writeup Status):

  1. FOSS - Started
  2. Mental Health Responders - Started
  3. Purchasing (Guaranteed for its Lifetime) - Done
  4. Horizontal Support/Collaboration - Not-Started
  5. Community Based Funding - Done
  6. Professionals to Remote Locations - Done
  7. Community Grocery Store - Done
  8. Financial Waste (Incentives to Reduce Department Spending) - Not-Started
  9. Expand Library Economy - Not-Started
  10. Remove Cash Bail – Not-Started
    Note: list number isn’t meaningful

In general, the policies have taken a couple hours to think through and writeup. Please feel welcome to add your own whether it’s completely thought out or just an idea of an area to target. You can also share them freely, attribution and direction back to the community would be nice, but not required.

Please read the Community Sidebar rules before posting/commenting. The rules aim to create a constructive environment. Lastly, welcome I hope we can make some positive policy changes together :)
