Tucker Carlson Reportedly Spotted In Moscow As Fans Speculate Interview With Putin

2y 4mon ago by lemmy.world/u/gedaliyah in news from www.mediaite.com

Previously, Carlson said he had planned to sit-down with the Russia president while at Fox News but then called it off claiming the U.S. government was monitoring him.

“I tried to interview Vladimir Putin, and the U.S. government stopped me,” Carlson told the Swiss publication, Die Weltwoche back in September. “By the way, nobody defended me. I don’t think there was anybody in the news media who said, ‘Wait a second. I may not like this guy, but he has a right to interview anyone he wants, and we have a right to hear what Putin says.'”

I sure as fuck wouldn't ask any unplanned hard hitting questions if I was an American reporter interviewing Putin in Russia. That interview is gonna be scripted as hell.

Fucker Carlson has never asked a hard question a day in his life. He's there to get propaganda talking points directly from his boss since he can't get them filtered through Fox anymore.

That's also why nobody defended him. He's a nazi PsyOps operative; not a journalist. Anything he asks is performative and only to serves his agenda. He doesn't deserve defence. He deserves ridicule.

"I know the answer to this one personally but Mr. Putin why shouldn't every American masterbait to topless photos of you?"

Defended him from what exactly? He's the only one claiming that the supposed interview was blocked.

It's no different than me claiming that I was supposed to be the next president of Russia, but was blocked by the US government, and nobody defended me!

Nah, Putin's too smart to script interviews. He knows that he can lie, straightfaced, and absolutely nothing will come of it. They're already sanctioned to hell by basically every major country on Earth, he's shipping thousands of Russian men to the Ukrainian front just to feed them into a meatgrinder that's barely holding any ground at all, and still the Russian people do nothing because there's nothing to do. Everyone who really, actually gave a shit about making a change is either jailed in some fortified cement block in Siberia, abroad and too scared of getting assassinated to come back, or has already been assassinated. So they rise up, so what? There's a tide of oligarchs who will rush in to replace Putin at the head of the table, and most of them have their own military forces on speed dial.

Or komrompat. Or both.

What's " komrompat"? Did you mean "kompromat", short for "compromising materials"?

No, just got the first two syllables out of order. "Rom Com" Pat, a genre-specific movie critic who moonlights as an assassin for SMERSH.

Did Russia finally realize you can just buy these assholes for a trifling amount of money?

It’s only like 50k or 100k each in Lobby bribes and these fuckers will vote (or not vote) how you want.

Given like 20 million, you’ve basically bought half of the US government for a few years.

Another victim of return to the office

Joke of the year nominee here

"I guess I'm for democracy"

Cool. Now don't let him come back.

How is this bitch not registered as a foreign agent?

Remember when this cunt's show was cancelled by a single appearance of Jon Stewart

https://youtu.be/aFQFB5YpDZE?si=dxyotC_xBQud-16b

My favorite part of that incident is how Tucker keeps trying to get Jon Stewart to say something funny instead of something honest and Stewart just refuses to play that game.

Unfortunately, it only resulted in Tucker's career getting bigger.

"It's not so much that [your show] is 'bad'. It's that it's hurting America."

Prophetic words.

Russian propagandists are fair game in war.

Would be a shame if he had something trackable on him and they happened to fire a missile at him while he was interviewing Putin.

Guys, it was a job interview. He's not a real journalist.

An interview? Yeah right, he's going to get his and Trump's orders.

So, now that he's an employee of the Kremlin, he gets to stay there permanently, right?

With any luck they'll keep him.

Unironically, how great would it be if that loser officially takes a job in the Russian agitprop?

It would probably not be good. He's very good at swaying right wing folks here in the US. He'd have more leeway over there.

He can throw himself on the mercies of Russia and Ukraine at the same time.

Let him out. Don't let him back in.

Good idea.

Best possible take.

While I would fucking love for Putin to even do an interview with an unbiased journalist that's not afraid of falling out of a 14th story window, this is not what's going to happen.

I doubt an interview will help. Any journalist doing that would be throwing their life away for nothing.

Putin gives interviews all the time, and he simply and plainly lies about reality. That is an essential part of Putin's power - he is showing Russian people, constantly, that he can lie to their face without consequences. If a journalist confronted him with facts, he would simply deny them. If a journalist challenged him, he is very well-trained to not react in a way that exposes discomfort or legitimizes the response.

This is gonna be like when Pierce Morgan all but deep throated Cristiano Ronaldo on camera

I loathe him so much. He really has a talent for speaking to rubes. His whole, “why should I dislike X? X hadn’t done anything to me, didn’t call me a racist,” perfectly speaks to his gullible idiots and verifies that it’s the world that is wrong and they’re correct and normal.

The heir to a massive family fortune acts like a man-of-the-people while wearing tailored suits and big-upping the wealthy and influential.

And his working-class Republican fans eat it up.

Just baffling.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Tucker [confused fart-smelling face]: "Is diversity truly our strength? What if I go to my hometown and there are people speaking Spanish on the streets? What if I go get a haircut and the barber cannot speak English?"

I can't stand his "another person is talking" face. Close your damn mouth, pretend to listen and then unleash the torrent of verbal diarrhea that you invited your guest-prop on to receive.

Threatening nuclear annihilation is all fun and games, but calling someone racist? That's crossing the line.

The thing that freaked me out the most when I first heard him was how much he spoke like that villain from 1984 (I forgot his name). With doublespeak and shit, really freaked me out

I'd love to know who's footing the bill for his trip.

Also, I thought the terms of is foxnews contract were such that he isn't supposed to be doing any news anchoring type gigs - did something change?

Putin will be paying. This helps him.

I don't think he works at Fox anymore, he's got own thing going now in internet TV shit or something like that.

Sure, but I meant that after he was fired, he was/is still beholden to several contractual terms about non-competes for a set amount of time.

That is probably true and that is why he is doing his shit on twitter. Turns out that its very hard to enforce these contracts if nobody involved cares about the rules.

Fuck Tucker Carlson but also fuck non compete clauses, no one should care about them. I could be wrong, but I recall seeing something about them not even being enforceable anyways. A leaving worker can't give up trade secrets or confidential information regardless of a non-compete, so the company already has protection for the stuff that's justifiable.

I don't even think Elon is paying since Tucker announced he was moving to his own streaming platform. But maybe this will be a Twitter video?

Because of course he is.

The us government would be stupid not to monitor him

The US government is stupid.

But the need to keep an eye on this guy anyway.

Fingers crossed that he is arrested for drug trafficking

That only happens if he does something that displeases Putin. But Tucker won't do that because he's a cowardly worm.

What makes me curious is, not that he went to Russia, but just how did he get there?

From what I read, he had traveled to Alberta Canada and then it looks like he just flew to Russia from there. I'm under the impression that there is no commercial air travel from the US or Canada to Russia. So where did he fly to after he left Canada? China? North Korea? Cuba? Taylor Swift's private jet?

Nah i just looked, I can get a flight to moscow february 11 for 1900 bucks out of Toronto

Heck, I'd fly to Moscow if they're going to pay me $1900 to do it.

He's just working out the flight plans for when it comes time for ol' donnie to make his exit

You sound just like him. Well played.

Step one, pretend you’re looking at the situation holistically by focusing on something semi-related.

Step two, frame potential answers as questions to be able to make your opponent look worse without actually saying anything verifiable.

Traitorous cur.

Seems kind of harsh to curs.

I apologize to all the innocent curs whom I've inadvertently offended by equating that trash with you.

You can't kiss an ass from halfway around the world.

I'm sure there are many counterexamples for that

American politicians have been doing just that to Israel for decades.

There’s no reportedly. Pictures all over Reddit now.

He's chosen his master, let him stay there.

An independent US journalist, ex-Foxnews host Tucker Carlson arrived in Russia for the first time and has spent three days in Moscow already. On the morning of February 1, according to social media, the former FoxNews anchor was spotted at Istanbul airport boarding a Turkish Airlines flight to Moscow. Unfortunately, the flight was delayed for two hours, but eventually Tucker arrived safely in the Moscow Vnukovo airport. Today he attended the ballet "Spartacus" at the Bolshoi Theater, social media reports

please explain images? Also third party mobile app made it impossible to reply to your message (not your issue) but context is always helpful.

The article says:

On Saturday, Carlson reportedly attended the ballet “Spartacus” at the Bolshoi theater in the Russian capital. Pictures began to surface over the weekend showing Carlson at the theater and in the airport heading to Russia.

And that looks like it's probably those images

My bad, I thought I added that. I was a little too baked when I replied.

An "independent" "US" "journalist", ex-Fox"news" host "Tucker Carlson" arrived in Russia for the "first time" and has spent three days in Moscow already.

Not sure why the writer omitted those, I thought it was mandatory in the style guide when blatantly lying.

Tucker is just dying to lick those boots

Cucker Tarlson needs to find a little apartment to move into there.

On the fifth floor, or higher. With a nice window view.

Window that opens! you need that fresh air afterall

With lots of stairs and a lifetime supply of tea.

Super cool that he just did an event with the head of government, Danielle Smith in the province of Alberta Canada

He gushed over Andrew Tate not that long ago too. Tucker is a super awesome guy who no one could possibly criticize unless they were a red Marxist commie socialist liberal cuck.

Tuck is trying to get orders from the boss to force Trump to name him VP.

He must give great head

"Interview."

flycatcher mouth breather

in this photo he looks like he's ranting about people having sex

this every

Touch black, no trade back.

fucking trash

He should stay. Or move to an arctic mine.

I didn't know putin's crotch microphone still worked after all those years. Tucker probably brought him some Viagra. He's probably getting paid in the only way he can enjoy.

I'd expect the actual interview (which now happened) would be posted already, to be disected etc.

Do you have any idea why that isn't happening?

I've seen some discussion about it. Apparently it was pretty boring.

No way.. 'boring' is their takeaway oneliner? i can only imagine that such headline is meant to steer the lazy reader away from actual thinking.

In the war of Bullshit, the only winners are the ruling class.

I thought Putin was homophobic

Are you trying to making a connection between a bad / weak man and being gay? If so, that's a shitty, inappropriate attempt at a joke.

Is Tucker Carlson gay or is this some attempt at a joke?

“We’re just asking questions”
