Was about to do that on my first playthrough because I couldn't figure out how to get it. In the haste of wanting to dive deep into Hyrule I just found it fun to not have the paraglider.
It made you sit and think about how you’re going to get somewhere, the change of pace was pretty refreshing honestly.
