For the record, I fully support what the remaining mod team is doing, they are a wonderful group and I trust them completely. I don't regret the choices I made, only that my actions got a few other mods shit canned in the process.

This is my first post on here thanks to the shit Admins pulled on you. How best do you recommend continuing the protest? While it's not exactly a perfect replacement for reddit yet, lemmy can help with that, i've found. If you click to the "all" feed you can basically get a slows/less populated version of reddit r/all. Really all it lacks at the moment is user participation, which has been climbing a lot over just the past few weeks.
Just to add, sorting All by Top Hour/6H keeps the content fresh. The default Active sorts by comments and favors 1-2 day old threads while Hot regularly resurfaces weeks old threads for some reason.
After I subscribed to a Canada sublemmy, there was a full two days where I was just constantly being bombarded with threads from literal years ago I'd see a shockingly frightening news thing, click on the thread, start reading, realize this all sounded familiar, and then realize this was like covid news

Each community is allowed to set their own standards for the rules they have, there's no server wide ban necessarily against NSFW, so you should check with the mods of a given community

You can subscribe to that instance’s communities from your current account, or make an account there for just NSFW (I personally like to keep my NSFW and regular browsing separate and I find that’s the easiest way 🙂)
I tried subscribing to Lemmynsfw (found it yesterday) with my account but I couldn't manage. So I registered another account and will swap between this and that on occasion, which is something I never did on Reddit because I was too lazy to swap so I kept everything on the same profile.

Stopping using Reddit is probably the only effective form of protest. If you don't want to do that, reducing your usage at all will help. However, the best thing you can probably do is help the Fediverse grow. Your part of that means active participation, be it posts or comments. So that's what I would encourage you to do: Post things!

Ttrpg.network, which you joined, is one of many websites that can all communicate together with a common web protocol. This process is called federation and all of those sites together are called the fediverse. So for example, I’m logged into slrpnk.net right now but because both of our sites (called instances) are federated, I can view and comment here, and you’d be able to do the same on any communities hosted on slrpnk.net. You may have heard of mastodon which is more of a twitter alternative but it’s also part of the fediverse, so you should be able to use your account here to view and interact with mastodon content as well if you wish.
It’s a pretty clever system and while there are hiccups here and there, for me it has been a good replacement for Reddit. We just need more users and content to really get things going.
This is the fediverse. It's a bunch of different instances federating with each other, sharing content but remaining individual. That way, no one instance can pull a reddit and go mad with power.
Imagine hundreds of Reddit sites with hundreds of communities (subreddits) each, that's the fediverse (federated servers).
They are called federated servers/instances because they are connected, their uses can interact (vote and comment) between each other.
For example, you are djgucci@ttrpg.network commenting on the RPGMemes community on the ttrpg.network instance, but I'm from the lemmy.world instance commenting on this community. This also means I can have a RPGMemes community back on my instance.

Would you be interested in starting a shortstack-and-snitty friendly community, either on this instance or elsewhere on Lemmy? I know it started as a protest, but a genuine (albeit horny) community sprung up really quickly. A lot of users, myself included, legitimately enjoyed what it was shaping into these past couple of days, where normal memes were getting posted alongside horny ones. It made the sub a really enjoyable sex-positive space that wasn't solely dedicated to sex, and there are not many of those.

None seem to be for RPG memes, though. Beyond that, a community dedicated to just porn memes wouldn't be as enjoyable.

Because the two communities are on different servers. noncredibledefense@sh.itjust.works is on the sh.itjust.works instance/server (https://sh.itjust.works/c/noncredibledefense) and noncredibledefense@lemmy.world, as an example, would be on lemmy.world (https://lemmy.world/c/noncredibledefense). They're both different communities/subreddits with different mods/admins.
While this can be a little confusing at first, after a while 1 or 2 similar communities will became the mainstream ones where most traffic will go while the others will be way smaller and a little more niche.

The points your browser to the community on the right instance. As for the link taking you to the base instance while on kbin, it's because kbin uses /m/ instead of /c/ as a separator like Lemmy. So for you to visit that NCD from kbin, the link would be https://kbin.social/m/noncredibledefense@sh.itjust.works.Also it looks like kbin is still having problems receiving updates from lemmy and vice versa.

I am livid as the erasure of the snitties and all the amazing goblin mode posting. While this network might not want to go NSFW like that, I was personally all on board with the eventual 10% NSFW memes that seemed to be settling in before the interference.
It was literally the best that subreddit had ever been.
Yeah the memes went from constant references to the latest misunderstanding of the rules to decently original.
They really should lock that sub down, migrate to a full NSFW sub, and leave all new posts pending mod approval with a message from automod directing them to here or the new sub.

I just joined this website and I am very glad to join along for the ride. I hope more subreddits follow this kind of alternative and delete their subs so Reddit can be left in the dust from barely having anything left to see. Would be a justified end for their greed.

Fuck Spez , I have bailed out of Reddit , it is beyond saving because structurally it is built on a flawed concept of assuming benevolent admins who work for the good of the community , and that is no longer the case , they are too far gone to be able to salvage value from that place and we are better off rebuilding better here.
I'm truly hoping almost every subreddits come to using an alternative like this and shut down their original subreddits. Less things to see on reddit means less traffic, less things to see, less ad revenue, less odds for the website to survive. The proper way to have a good ol' fashioned mutiny.

What's a moment you've really enjoyed in a game recently?
I've had a weekly 5e game with some old college friends that's been running for 4+ years. We started at level 1 and just turned level 19. During the last fight I ended in the center of an enemy's casting of Meteor Swarm and was unscathed thanks to my Shield Master feat. That was pretty great!

Yes! We have a discord. They're doing well, one's justifiably frustrated because they'd been working on a post and finished writing it a few hours before getting banned. The mods they picked had approved memes that were marked as smut/lewd.
I signed up for lemmy a while back and well... I should go touch grass for a bit before jumping back into something like lemmy. 😅

It sucks but it wasn't exactly unexpected. I salute you for sticking to your guns and protesting corporate bullshit in the most effective way you could.
Since Reddit is clearly saying that protesting within the system is not permitted, I'm going the only route left which is complete boycott. Unless I hear about them very publicly walking back policies and issuing a convincingly self deprecating apology (and I'm not holding my breath) I will not be using Reddit at all. They get no traffic from me, no demographic information, nothing that they can monetize, just nothing. I only really used it for the memes anyway so fuck 'em.
Also while I totally supported the entire NSFW protest angle I did very quickly grow tired of endless pictures of Kobold pussy and dragon dicks. "Sex positive" is one of those legitimate terms that is most often used by people who want to justify immature behavior. I supported that behavior as a form of protest but very quickly tire of such content when it's flooding a feed. Because I'm not twelve and every single one of those lewd/smut memes I saw was just the sort of juvenile "lookit da nekkids and s3xx0rz" garbage that amused me in middle school with people tacking on comically flimsy excuses to pretend it was serious intellectual content. The protest didn't work and I seriously won't mind if I don't see another goblin boob for some time.
