Amazing how this artistic style makes ancient Romans so relatable to me. And it’s so simple- four wriggly puppies playing (or napping?).
The carver was just noodling around one day with a left over scrap of marble and instead of practicing on ears or beard curls, they say fuck it and produce some pups.
Sweet little pupper uppers are timeless
