Based on the sidebar, I’m going to guess they’re opposed to restricting the flow of information through patents
At least it's not as common as it used to be. You don't see many products advertised as "patented technology" or "patent pending" anymore.
Because patents are now used as an offensive thicket and a way to parasitize businesses that actually do something.
