It appears that all the lawyers have been sacked by Spez too - PullPush threatened legal action from Reddit over API access

2y 10mon ago by lemmy.world/u/gsa32 in snoocalypse@lemmy.ml from forum.pullpush.io

So he's going full Musk?

Please start yanking random wires in the server room.

How tf is twit still not perma404 yet?

I can imagine the level of interaction.

Hufman: do this illegal thing for me

Lawyers: no

Huffmen: you're fired

It makes sense. Reddit will be spending a lot on legal fees. It makes no sense to be working for them in a salaried position.

If the lawyer says not to do something and is ignored the lawyer is likely to quit.

Lawyer: "Do not send my client to prison."

Judge: "No."

Lawyer: "Fuck! I quit."

TIL defense lawyers work for judges, not the client. 🙄

Well if they lose all the time, they probably will quit too.

They don't answer because nothing will be happening obviously.

I want them to be sued

I'm not too informed on the situation; on which legal grounds could PushShift sue Reddit?

EDIT: my bad, I misread it. Another detail: this is being signed by the "admin team" instead of "legal department". Does Reddit still have a legal department at all?

A legal team would have stepped in several times by now.

I do not understand what's going on here. Would very appreciate if someone would take the time to fill it in?

Reddit bans a reddit account under grounds that it's being used to pull data for some other site. The ban notice includes something pretending to be a Cease and Desist.

The account owner responds by email (because ban) saying the account is operated by an intern and a C&D would need to be sent to the site owner.

Reddit doesn't respond after a full week. Poster shows the back and forth with some roflcopter about no response must = no legal team.

Aha I can follow now.

Love the terminating comma:

Thanks,
