Major airlines are charging some disabled passengers double to fly from the UK, the BBC has found.

Just because I am probably missing something. They’re being charged double because they need to travel with a care assistant. Are the options

  1. Travel without the assistant (understandably impossible to do)
  2. Airline provides an assistant
  3. Airlines comp the price of the second seat for the assistant

I would assume if people need assistant on the plane, they would also need them for their day to day at their destination as well?

To add - Im not being shitty. Im all for empowering everyone as much as possible. And fuck airline companies scalping. I just wanted to clearly understand the options

I mean, I'm surprised they don't do this for pr points from the gullible and increase general ticket prices/other fees. They could have an easy pr win that generates more revenue.
