I was given a Casio fx-9750GII graphing calculator the other day.

The calculator as a whole seems to work perfectly, but can anyone explain Casio's choice of the shape of their flashing text entry cursor?

It is supposed to be a capital A on top of a couple of corner braces. If you press SHIFT it turns into an S. On the fx-9750GIII you can use both upper and lowercase and the cursor has a lowercase a when in lowercase alpha mode. That said, it is pretty much a dong.

Interesting. Yeah, I just got this thing the other day, no manual though. I'm sure I can find the manual online if I find myself needing to learn its more advanced features.

I do have experience with other graphing calculators, so I'm pretty comfortable stumbling my way around to learn the ins and outs of this one.

I found it odd though, when I discovered its various character sets, I didn't see that symbol under any of the character sets.

Sigh, Casio, they knew... 😂🤣
