I was looking forward to this lens for astrophotography and indoor video, but it costs 2000€ in Germany, a total robbery… I think the 15-35 2.8L can be found for less than that
That's a two stop difference, though; four times the light. That's a big difference. Totally worth it!
Totally. But even though they are very different lenses, there is some overlap: a wider 2.8 is already usable for astro, and I’m planning to get a star tracker so aperture becomes secondary. The 15-35 covers perfectly landscape, the 20 would be really nice for street, travel and indoors. Someday I think I’ll own both, as much as I hate overpaying Canon, their lenses are just so good!
