See article "Tesla's Cybertruck flop is historic. The brand collapse is even worse" : https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2025/7/3/2331384/-Tesla-s-Cybertruck-flop-is-historic-The-brand-collapse-is-even-worse
But the question I am asking and you also might be asking is: How could even 36.9% of Americans hold a favorable view of an actual Nazi?
How could even 36.9% of Americans hold a favorable view of an actual Nazi?
Because there's a lot of people in the US who either are Nazis or agree with their policies.
Nazis view other Nazis favorably.
The rest believe that someone in their "ingroup" cannot do any wrong. If they did something abhorrent it must have been a good reason or it's clearly a joke so they didn't mean it.
It really comes down to these people are brainwashed into thinking that someone like Musk is a genius/good person/role model. If he's got all of these "good" qualities how can he believe or something so incredibly evil? The answer is that they just shrug it off because he's "one of them" and because they believe they're a good person he must be too.
That is indeed the correct answer, and you have won the internet today. Congrats. The other acceptable answer was "It's a cult." A very nasty Nazi cult.
Have this!

True story: Americans have had such sensationalized news for such a long time period, they casually downplay anything they now see.
I know a lot of people who otherwise would hate Musk, that only see the physical (which is tesla, space x, etc) and use that as an excuse to downplay/dismiss that he's a ketamine addicted nepo baby. Essentially, his success comes with a certain level of smokescreen to the ignorant or the apathetic, which the mainstream media has been constantly trying to convert everyone to with its 24/hr bullshit cycle.
I'd love to see a demographic breakdown on the people who still support him.
OK, I don't know what the breakdown is and I'm unsure if I want to know. But if you go to this page (https://www.natesilver.net/p/elon-musk-polls-popularity-nate-silver-bulletin) and then scroll down to the section titled "The polls: What do the surveys say?" you'll get a chart with links to all of the polls. I suspect you'll get some decent demographic data within some of those surveys. I wouldn't hold it against you at all if you decide it's not worth the effort. Musk is a Nazi after all, and therefore I could [unfairly?] assume that anyone who supports a Nazi is also a Nazi.
Maybe its just me but this graph is almost completely unintelligible
Not being condescending at all, but what is the issue you're having with it?
I wonder if the original graph would be better or worse. It looked like this:

EDIT: Just saw your other comment -- I missed seeing it come in while looking up the original graph
No worries! Yeah that second graph you linked is much less confusing at first glance lol sorry if you made that graph I wasnt trying to be mean it just legitimately took five minutes before I had read it correctly
I didn't make either of the graphs, nor am I involved in any capacity with the linked article or surveys, so no apologies necessary. I'm only guilty of sharing them, and I get why it was confusing. Also, I didn't think you were being mean, so don't give it another thought. :) It's all good.
You are a beautiful person :')
They color coded it as if it was "democrats vs republicans approval of elon musk" and had me so confused. Disapproval being the Y axis really cranked up the confusion.
Now I understand it is just approve/disapprove in general. They should have a legend and label their axis so it doesn't take five minutes to decipher this graph. Crazy work.
