Breakfast beer

As every day I brought my son to kindergarten and today I went to the nearby convenience store because it's hot and I was thirsty. BTW, I'm in South Korea so the beer diversity is not very big.
Anyway I saw a Weinstehaner Helles from Bavaria and was very pleasantly surprised. And while normally I buy a coke, water or coffy in the morning, today I am treatin g myself with a beer from the oldest brewary in the world, they say they started brewing in the year 1040 AD.
Nice! I bet that’s refreshing when it’s so hot out
Weihenstephaner Helles 🤢
if you ever come across a Tegernseer, Chiemseer or Moy Bier, try those.
Source: am German (matter of fact, the Weihenstephan brewery is like a 40 minute walk away from)
Unrelated but nice choice with the Tudor, which model is that?
Amazing, you can see the brand from that angle? It's a Black Bay. I got it from my wife as a wedding present.
I'm not a watch guy but I think mostly because I never had a good one until now.
Tudor has a very distinct clasp on their metal bracelets.
I’ve been a watch guy a long time now, I’ve tried on several Black Bays. They’re great. I don’t really have the budget for those, but I do have a vintage Tudor Price Oysterdate which I love. It was manufactured when Tudor was still using Rolex parts, so the caseback, crown, and buckle all have the Rolex coronet which is pretty neat. It’s like owning a Rolex without being that guy who wears a Rolex, if you know what I mean. I wore it for my wedding too, it’s a classy piece. I tend to actually prefer more affordable watches myself, they often have a lot more character. I have a long list on my phone of models I’d consider getting some day, and most are on the affordable end. It’s a lot cheaper of a hobby than many people think.
One of the interesting things which I absolutely adore about it is the bracelet actually. All others, but especially smart watches start stinking after a while and you need to replace it or somehow deep clean it. This one I didn't take off since I got it almost a year ago, and there is no smell at all there. I guess it's the materials they chose don't react with sweat, etc.
The other thing is that I don't need to wind it up or charge it.
The third thing is how hard the glass is, I have it on me 24/7 and I had it under stress many times scratching and being afraid it would be ruined, but it's basically as new.
I don’t have any experience wearing their bracelets for prolonged periods of time but I have tried on many Tudor’s including many Black Bays and loved their bracelets.
Yeah, automatic movements are great. The only time I ever buy fully manually wound is for dress watches since the movements are thinner (rotor + extra gears adds a good bit of thickness). The thinner the better for a dress watch in my opinion.
That would be thanks to the sapphire crystal. It’s not actually glass, it’s clear, factory made sapphire. Incredibly hard material. In normal wear and tear the only thing realistically able to scratch it is diamond. It’s a fantastic material for anything “glass”. The downsides are pretty minimal for most people. The only real disadvantages to sapphire are (1) if you do somehow manage to break it, instead of cracking it’ll completely shatter, and (2) it needs a coating on it to prevent glares, as it’s super reflective. Thankfully AR (anti-reflective) coating comes standard on virtually all sapphire crystals, and on a watch most people will never have to worry about shattering. With a couple niche exceptions I think all watches should have sapphire crystals, but corpos like to penny pinch so it’s reserved for mid to high end and luxury watches unfortunately.
