So cool he got to play out the final show, rip legend
Wonder if he knew it was coming. Glad he got that farewell concert
He and Sharon have been longtime proponents of euthanasia. It's entirely possible this was the plan all along.
Honestly, no judgment either way. Ozzy is a legend, and he died as he lived - on his own terms. RIP.
I mean, I wouldn't be surprised what with the late-stage parkinson's
symptoms usually begans around 60, so he would had for a while.
There's a reason he came off so doddering on The Osbournes.
i looked more into the disease, apparently for some people the first symptoms are usually outside the brain, like loss of smell, or some GI issue, not all but some. one time i stumbled into a parkinsons forum, and some people said they began loss of smell
...
There were some comments he made after the show that really made it sound like he knew his time was up.
The emotions he had during a few of the songs, I chalked up to the finality of the performance at the time. Now I definitely feel it was something bigger he knew.
Singing about end-times in your twenties is cool and edgy. Bringing those same lyrics to his metaphorical death bed, hit totally different and it showed.
The radio show I was listening to while driving this morning said that concert felt like a tribute except he was technically alive and present.
Me too. The man was a legend and a pioneer, and deserved nothing less. RIP Ozzy, it was fun having you in our lives.
"Mama I'm coming home."
Tearing up just typing it.
🤘
wow, that was an actual final show for the original sabbath.
Randy Rhoads?
He wasn't an original Sabbath member. Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward were the members. Rhoads was Ozzy's guitarist when he went solo.
Ah - right. I got the timeline wrong.
Happens to the best of us. Ozzy was ready to go see him.
Shocked he made it this long tbh. That's a long life of going hard
I'm not sure that's how I would describe his last 25 years. He was shuffling around on the Osbournes a quarter century ago looking a little worse for ware for someone in their early fifties.
I remember going to an ozzy concert around the time of the Osborne’s and he shuffled to the mic like an old man, and as soon as the music hit, he was running and jumping around stage like a madman. The concert was ozzy and Rob zombie so it was a great show, i also remember Rob zombie’s wife in a cage on stage
IIRC, those were early signs of his Parkinson's disease, and he was untreated at that point. He was doing much better for a number of years after that show, once they figured out what was wrong with him and started him on a treatment plan.
It ain't the years, it's the mileage. - Indiana Jones
So long Ozzy. Thanks for all the metal.
Dang, one of the few that I feel most people actually get sad about. He did get to live a long life though, longer than anyone else would have with all the shit he's done (don't mean that in a bad way). Rock in peace you legend.
Iggy’s still performing…
Yeah but she was born in like 1990.
/s? Say /s please.
Of course /s.
was referring to Iggy Pop/Stooge b.1947 or so
Yeah I was making an Iggy azalea joke.
seems you knew that…
Yeah, it kinda feels like he doesn't count though, he's more like a demigod. Ozzy was kinda that too, but always felt like he had a human element that Iggy hasn't, also don't mean any of this in a bad way.
Seen both live a couple of times, superb shows even though I'm not a major fan of either's music. Definitely appreciate the music and have no issues with it, just not my goto.
RIP to the Prince of Darkness

Man, he made one last farewell before he joined the ferryman. This deserves all the respect he got. Fuckin legend!
Charon! Charon!

How do you get that wrong?
In case you're serious

RIP
I prefer this one

It is better.
Or maybe just the second panel of the first one :''(.
I like that idea
I just came across this one, part 3 I guess?

The Osbournes are a bunch of Trump supporters. After the (allegedly) staged assassination attempt, the whole family hopped on The Osbournes podcast to sing his praises. I grew up with this family but I was so disgusted by their comments that I immediately unsubscribed and haven't followed anything Ozzy since...
...
Fuck.
I didn't know that about him. I wish I still didn't.
No shade on you. Thank you for bringing it up.
EDIT: I can't find anything about Ozzy or the Osbournes supporting Donald Trump, and most of the articles I can find even regarding the two are Ozzy calling Trump an out-of-touch old fool and the Osbournes sending him a C&D over his use of Crazy Train (with a note suggesting he use music from artists that actually support him, like Kanye, Kid Rock, and Ted Nugent). That said, I did find a podcast episode where they talk about the assassination attempt, but the synopsis doesn't say what they say about it. I guess I'll have to listen to it and judge for myself, when I have the spoons to do so.
I'm not 100% sure but I think this is the episode I was referencing. Have a listen and let me know (don't have time to check for myself; about to clock in for work):
Besides being a Trump supporter, Ozzy was also a huge backer of Israel.
Ozzy Osbourne and celebrities slam BBC for anti-Israel bias in Gaza coverage

Plus, his bitch wife is a grade-a asshole. Fired her many-year PA for not running BACK into a burning building to get her trinkets while he was in the back of an ambulance on a ventalator being treated for smoke inhalation from running in to the building to rescue her dog - which she'd left to burn. And she went on TV and gleefully recounted the story, laughing, because of what a good story it was.
Zero surprise she's a Trumper.
allegedly staged? You don't have to be conspiracy theorist to hate Trump...
I'm not a conspiracy theorist.
You have seen the footage from the newly released camera angle that was circulating a few days ago, right? Here it is with descriptive captions in case you haven't:
He made it to the average expectancy. Considering he was anything but "average" he made it a lot longer than most I think expected.
R.I.P Hellraiser. May you rock out in the afterlife with Dio, Lemmy, Cliff and all the others we have lost. Forgive us for though you said 'No More Tears' we shed this loss. Rest easy.

"Sharon!"
Thank you, Ozzy. R.I.P.
I didn't think there was enough human in him left to die.
"He just turned into a fine powder... is that cocaine?"
Hed have snorted himself if he could
Ozzy finally took the Crazy Train himself.
If anyone would have been immortal, I'd be Ozzy. No such luck. RIP you legend.
Are they sure? Like it seems like it might be difficult to tell on that guy
We lost a pioneer of culture today. Ozzy had such a vast cultural reach he became a household name. I can’t tell you how many dogs I’ve met named Ozzy because of him.
Rest in Peace to one of the most incredible personalities in music ever.
Did they bark at the moon?
I have a friend who adopted Ozzy as his nickname thanks to Ozzy Osbourne. And yes, we did go to Ozzfest together, twice, and had an awesome time both times.
He shared his gift with the world until the last minute, a true artist!
RIP
A testament to human durability. Thanks for the music Oz.
I saw Sabbath live when I was a teenager in the early aughts and they def still had it then, so I'm assuming the same up until that final show. RIP
Yep, saw them at Ozzfest 20+ years ago, and even then they were "old". But they crushed!
Those were good times. I was at the Ozzfest where Marilyn Manson humped the back of a security guards head and then got sued for it. Good times indeed.
Which year? Manson was I think third billed at the one I went to. (2001)
2001 sounds right. I was definitely at that one. I remember the t shirt being Satan grabbing his hairy balls and flipping you the bird. They made me turn that t shirt inside out in high school when I wore it. Buncha facists.
I also remember Sony had a PS2 truck there and you could play Twisted Metal Black. It was awesome.
You at the one where SOAD played just before Ozzy?
I saw them at Pledge of Allegiance in 2001 right after Toxicity came out. Absolutely sick fucking show.
It's been 20 years. They need to kiss and make up. I want new SOAD.
I would've loved to see that, but no, it was Marilyn Manson. Which was still a great show
Oh damn the Manson one I missed going to. I was supposed to see Manson around 2005, but it was an outdoor concert and the whole thing got canceled due to storms, so never did get to see him; but yeah, SOAD was absolutely fantastic.
RIP to a legend
Today sucks
Sure does
Wow. That's a pretty long life, all things considered. May he rest peacefully.
I'm sure he's in hell now, having a blast.
Ozzy just went upstairs to drink with Lemmy.

Just back home, to hell, and rock forever.
His voice and music will be with us forever too.
Crazy train arrived on the last station. Rock in peace
Wow for some reason I thought he was way older.
He looked old af
Drugs
Parkinson's.
Rest now you madman! Hope you got to ride the crazy train across Styx!
This one is tough. I wasn't an Ozzy super fan or anything, but at the time I grew up (70s - 80s), there was no avoiding him.
I listen to some of the older Black Sabbath songs differently now as well, and have a different appreciation for them. Doesn't stop me from doing some air guitar in the car though.
🤘RIP Ozzy🤘 You certainly didn't die as an ordinary man.
I was never really into his music, but after seeing his farewell tour and how he passed the torch to youngblud it just reminds me type of man he was, and the world isn't as good as it once was without him.
RIP to a real one
Part of my favorite Ozzy clip.
Farewell to a truly quirky original.

Rest in peace
That's a lot of weeks, just over a year.
Due to complications from a comma. Or was it semi colon related?
thats some serious comma
It did him no good having stopped his medication regime. Once he went back on the pain management medication. I'm sure his body couldn't absorb that shock any longer. Going to miss knowing this badass was still alive.
