Burrowing Owl

Shot during blue hour (a period of time before the sun comes up in the morning). The "framing" is from shooting through an opening between two boulders.

Burrowing owls are the only owls in North America to nest underground. They like to collect objects like bottle caps, feathers, and even dung to adorn the entrances of their homes.
