The Orville season 2, episode 7 "Deflectors"

An acclaimed Moclan engineer named Locar (Kevin Daniels) comes aboard the Orville to improve the performance of its defectors. He turns out to be an old flame of Bortus', who wants nothing to do with him... until Locar turns up dead on Security Chief Kelayi's (Jessica Szohr) watch. Meanwhile, Commander Grayson tries to shrug off the increasingly-desperate attempts by her ex-boyfriend to continue their relationship.
