Dark Side of the Net--I loved this site back in the day
7mon 26d ago by lemmy.world/u/ProfThadBach in goth from www.darklinks.comI loved this site back in the late 00s and early 2000s. She brought it back but had not really done anything with it for months.
Oh yeah I remember that! It's kinda interesting to see her looking at the different platforms and working out what's best for her. I was gonna say she oughta look a the fediverse but she's very AI-positive which a lot of folks here aren't.
Hey want another blast from the past? some folks are making a clone of the old vampire freaks bulletin boards -- https://vampfreaks.com/ I keep meaning to make a post about that on gothindustrial@lemmy.world
I use to be in the SCA a long time ago and was interested in armor. I was and am still a member of the Armor Archive that uses the same software as the Vampirefreaks board does. Sadly not much goes on over on the Archive these days.
Oh yeah, I've known people who were really into the SCA and they made it sound awesome.
Are you following PugJesus' historical posts here on lemmy? He had a pic of some badass-looking Ottoman armor on historyartifacts@piefed.social today. And an illustration of Byzantine armor on historyart@piefed.social. He posts daily, see a list here: https://piefed.social/f/pugmigration
It was awesome if you were in the right click. If not then you were an NPC to most of them.
Yeah I heard that. But they also said that if you got into a craft people would help you out and you'd make friends once they saw you were serious. I'm sure it varied by kingdom and that was a long time ago. I definitely heard there was drama, too.
