POV: Starting a Publication, the Struggle Is Real

Really, you're starting something like imprint or virtual magazine.
I can believe it's a struggle unless you can find a niche and pick up steam by appealing to a group of specific enthusiasts.
It is an online publication, based on medium.
There is no niche. Publication accepts real life stories, essays, poems, any industry insights, taboo talk... Only requirement is that it is a human written story. It can be fiction as well, although I prefer non-fiction.
I encourage raw storytelling, authenticity, and honesty.
By struggle, I mean more about being seen, spreading the news, and promoting the publication from scratch in this digital world which is full of content.
But numbers are going up, and more and more readers and writers are joining.
So far there are authors from Croatia, South Africa, USA, South Wales, India, Turkey, ...
Future plans are to expand beyond medium.
I'm starting with a promotion in two weeks.
