Wisconsin lawmakers consider age-related restrictions for apps, social media

Several new bills are the product of a "Task Force on Protecting Kids," which was created by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester.
For users under 18, the platform would have to set privacy restrictions to the most private level available. And the bill would ban certain “addictive” features from being used in a minor’s social media feed. That includes “infinite scrolling; a profile-based feed; push notifications; autoplay video,” the bill says.
Can we get features designed to be addictive banned, generally? Regular users need to be gained by having a good quality product, not by exploiting brain chemistry.
Assembly Bill 962 is fucked up.
I am not a lawyer, but the text of the bill makes it seem that many many websites, Firefox, and command line terminals are all "app stores" to be regulated, as they are able to download "apps" onto mobile devices.
The State of Wisconsin and parents could sue Lemmy "developers" (meaning server owners) unless they make you provide your ID.
