today i have learned a new pattern! tesselations, fractals, and normal distributions appear everywhere in nature. if you can't find it, it usually means you're either looking too close or not close enough

here's the thing! these trees' root systems probably also match a Voronoi distribution. and funguses in the soil help them share resources across the boundaries in that distribution
