why would It have to be 50/50? genuine question
I personally want the best of each on every seat of the european parliament, no matter if for some area that means they are 90% men or 90% women, just like you'd want the police to be 100% capable, no matter if they're women or men in some%
What’s more likely, that there are not women capable for the job or that women are not getting the job due to their gender?
And why is it that none of them have more women than men? If it’s purely about capability, surely somewhere should be majority women yet they aren’t.
That’s why a more even split has to be sought, because it’s already artificially imbalanced against women. You cannot have a fair system where the best person gets the job while the current issues persist.
