this is not good.... | Hasan Piker - Youtube (Invidious link)

2mon 24d ago by sopuli.xyz/u/supersquirrel in politicalvideos@sopuli.xyz from inv.nadeko.net

Hasan Piker breaks down how the inability of the US to have an honest conversation about Israel has left the lane wide open for genuinely terrifying antisemites like Tucker Carlson on the right to smash the status quo in a way that should scare everyone, everywhere.

Listen to leftists before it is too late.

I reported your comment because I am getting tired of this lazy, bot driven slander of Hasan Piker that there is ZERO evidence for.

Grow up and try harder in your sloppy slander.

Hasan Piker has strong criticisms of Israel, he is NOT antisemitic. Those are two different things, Hasan Piker would be cast out of his prominence as a leftist voice in the US if he started talking about hating jews or thinking they were less than other humans. That completely goes against the entire ideology of Hasan.

Personally I am insulted that you would claim in a short quip I would recommend an antisemitic video. I make an effort constantly to call out how scared I am of genuine antisemitism exploding in the US, that is WHY I support people like Hasan Piker analyzing Israel as a colonialist power instead of seeing it only through the lens of a religious context.

Hasan Piker is DIRECTLY fighting the likes of Nick Fuentes and Tucker Carlson who are genuinely antisemitic and believe jews are inherently lesser or more prone to evil, in contrast by gobbling whatever slop up you heard about Hasan and repeating it without doing your own research into you are being irresponsible and putting jews in danger by muddying the truth.

As rightwing antisemitism explodes in the US Hasan Piker will continually be out there with a megaphone telling stupid conservatives to stop being dumbasses and blaming the colonialism and imperialism of their own country on jews as a way out of dealing with the consequences of their own actions and beliefs.

Third Way, which is funded by billionaires and corporate interests, has been quite open about its broader goal and ongoing campaign to marginalize the left. “We will be the chief opponent of the left in the 2028 Democratic presidential primary,” the organization’s president, Jon Cowan, recently pledged. Asked to define the kind of lefty candidates Third Way doesn’t like, he pinpointed pols who “are for Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, abolishing ICE, open borders.”

The chorus of manufactured criticism was echoed by Senators Elissa Slotkin and Haley Stevens. Oddly, they were all quiet when Gavin Newsom was chummy with Charlie Kirk, Ben Shapiro, and Steve Bannon. In fact, Slotkin was on anti-Muslim bigot Bill Maher’s show on Friday night and didn’t use her time to push back against his history of hate.

We all see through the bullshit.

It’s the same smear tactic that has been launched against Zohran Mamdani, another Muslim man of color who is against genocide like El-Sayed. The same group of corporate Dem donors and AIPAC supporters is trying to neutralize any progressive candidate that is vocally anti genocide and pro-Palestinian.

Stop crudely shoving down your gullet whatever corporate news media vomits at you like a baby bird being fed dinner and think for yourself.

Hasan wants to see Israel destroyed

Hasan wants the Apartheid of Israel destroyed, that does not mean he wants jews killed, destroyed or ethnically cleansed. It does not mean he desires all the jews living in Israel to move and live somewhere else, when Hasan Piker criticizes Israel he means THE POLITICAL ENTITY, the COUNTRY not the religion of the majority of its people or the absolute summation of everyone who lives in the country. That is an absurd conclusion and draws into question how genuine your concern actually is here.

Hasan Piker does not believe in the legitimacy of theocratically based States, Israel is no exception, but that does not mean Hasan desires violence upon jews living in Israel or he desires obliteration of humans or that he does not support the freedom to practice whatever religion you want including Judaism. You can see proof in this in that Hasan Piker just as emphatically denounces the ways in which the US is a Christian/theocratic State. Hasan, as any leftist worth their salt does, recognizes that the statement This State is for This Religion is inherently violent and extremist when that way of thinking is extended bit by bit unimpeded.

Israel is an Apartheid State like South Africa was, that is what Hasan Piker is opposed to, Hasan Piker wouldn't have wanted South Africa to be "ethnically cleansed" to end the Apartheid, what are you insane? Why would you draw that conclusion? It goes against the basic ideas of leftism that Hasan Piker applies consistently to every topic he approaches.

You DEEPLY insult me, Hasan Pikers and others fighting for a better world by casually claiming Hasan Piker actually advocates for ethnic cleansing.

Hasan spreads antisemitic tropes

No he doesn't, if you make this claim I expect you to back it up with a list of sources, not a random 1 hour long youtube video. Hasan does not spread antisemitic tropes about jews, he does not make fun of jews for being jews, he does not make long nose jokes, or "jews are greedy about money" jokes or anything like that. Cite your sources or stop claiming someone is doing such a heinous thing.

and wants to ethnically cleanse half the worlds Jews from their homeland

I consider this a very serious accusation, I would never ever support anyone who ever advocated for ethnically cleansing ANY group of people. SHAME on you for claiming Hasan Piker has advocated for ethnic cleansing like that, you disgust me and you directly endanger jews by trafficking in disinformation like this.

Hasan is a full on authoritarian tankie as well, not a liberal progressive. At best he is a cynical grifting demagogue.

Again you making wild assertions while citing no evidence. How is Hasan a "full on authoritarian tankie"? What does that mean specifically in terms of the specific policies Hasan Piker advocates for? Can you even define what that descriptor means in policy or are you just parroting something you heard as lazy vague slander?

Damn you really don't know what you are talking about if you are going to link Ethan from h3h3, he has had a total crashout in attacking Hasan Piker on baseless claims. If you link me an hour long video of his to watch, I would expect you to watch an equally long video by Hasan or another leftist dismantling Ethan's wild accusations and baseless claims.

If you don’t know who Ethan Klein is, I’m sorry to be the one to tell you.

Klein is the primary host of the extremely popular H3 Podcast, which is one of the most-watched podcasts on YouTube every week. Over the past few years, as he has engaged in a never-ending, largely one-sided feud with his former co-host Hasan Piker (the leftist Twitch streamer who has been profiled in the New York Times), Klein has also become more hated than ever before.

That’s saying something, because Klein used to happily throw the N-word around. But since October 7, 2023, Klein has repeatedly escalated allegations of antisemitism against Piker for his outspoken stance against Israel and in support of Palestinians. Klein is Jewish and has lived in Israel, while Piker is Turkish-American and was raised Muslim. Klein’s obsession with attacking Piker and anyone who agrees with or is associated with Piker has made Klein the repeated subject of viral content dragging him to hell and back.

This week, Klein continued to be so mad at Piker for being anti-Israel that he decided to sue three women about it. He filed lengthy, typo-ridden lawsuits for copyright infringement against female Twitch streamers who reacted to a nearly two-hour video Klein made about Piker in January, which he has since revealed was a trap to try and sue Piker for streaming the copyrighted content on his channel. Piker didn’t do it, but these women did, so Klein sued them instead. Klein’s announcement of the lawsuits featured him literally setting money on fire. The suits featured dozens of claims about Piker, including a paragraph comparing Piker to a prominent Palestinian who has been dead for 50 years but collaborated with Adolf Hitler and other Nazis to oppose the establishment of Israel.

I'm not familiar with him and I appreciate your detailed reply. I'm trying to be impartial and give both sides a chance as I don't know the person in subject and would like to to not let my own biases colour my action.

If I sound upset it is because Hasan Piker has hours and hours and hours of videos, he is a streamer, of course you are going to be able to clip him saying edgey shit, but open up any random video of his, skip to a random section of his and just listen how he talks about people different than him.

Does he encourage violence against people different than him? Does he support discrimination based on religion or ethnicity? Does he punch down at people who are politically and materially disempowered in his humor or politics? Does Hasan argue for healthcare only for some people if they agree to subscribe to his belief system or does he believe health care needs to be for everybody in society even if he thinks they are assholes?

Can you really say the same for conservatives? No, no you can't.

When Hasan criticizes someone like Tucker Carlson or Nick Fuentes it is with an explicit emphasis that leaning into rightwing antisemitism is dangerous and that is why leftists need to force uncomfortable conversations on colonialism and US complicity so that things don't resolve down into a simpler, more brutal genuine antisemitism. This isn't an academic concern, it is a well documented pattern in history and we should all be worried. Hasan Piker has in so many words repeatedly made that point.

I think the attacks on Hasan are extremely warped, this isn't some guy who only shares tiny snippets of his politics, you can go see it all, he has gone on national tv and explained his politics, he has made lots of speeches. Where is the consistent evidence Hasan believes jews are lesser people or that the Palestinian Genocide is a product of Judaism and not US colonialism refracted into a different context?

A basic leftist analysis that someone with the politics Hasan Piker makes of the behavior of Israel is to reject the attempt to narrativize this as a religious war explicitly because leftism understsnds this as an attempt to divide us into teams, so we don't realize we aren't actually enemies

It’s the imperial boomerang. I used to talk about LRADs all the time — long-range acoustic devices, right? They were first implemented in Iraq for crowd control purposes. Then only a decade later they were being used in Portland, and now every police precinct has one. Same goes for all these different tools that we use first in the colonies and then at the home front. And the same systems of surveillance that people experiment with in places like Gaza. Maybe even AI targeting and drone warfare that we’ve seen happening to the captive Palestinian population in Gaza. And the genocide will inevitably happen to Americans on the domestic front as well. We’re not there yet, but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen.

This is Hasan Piker's politics, what about this politics prescribes a blame onto Judaism? Or that the reaction should be blaming jews and not a broader process of colonialist violence? Where is the genuine sustained call to some kind of extreme violence? How can Hasan's words not be interpreted as encouraging us to understand context and the ways in which we connect to it more intimately than we might presume at first glance?

A recent episode of The Majority Report, a progressive longform politics podcast, had Hasan Piker on, note Sam Seder who runs the show is a jew... He talks it about it nonchalantly in a casual way often in a way you can tell it means something to him, why the hell would Hasan Piker be hanging out with a jew on a nerdy politics podcast if he was antisemitic? Sam Seder, a jew, speaks highly of Hasan Piker and considers the current wave of attacks against him attempting to framd him as antisemitic absurd and clearly disinformation. Hasan Piker equally speaks highly of Sam Seder for the record.

Neither tolerates antisemitism, it would go against the basic beliefs they hold everything else they talk about to.

You didn't sound upset. I bought everything you said, but it also aligns with my biases.

Hey, I'm not familiar with this guy and I'm not the top mod here, but I'd like to handle this impartially as much as possible.

You say he wants to see Israel destroyed, could you elaborate? Do you mean in its current form (and government)? Or entirely?
