The only sedan in Nissan's current Japanese lineup has been around largely unchanged since 2014
The lack of originality in the designs and the reliance on nostalgia are signs that Nissan is not in the best of shape.
Nissan hasn't been in the best of shape for a couple of decades now. Their target market is people who've been denied auto loans from other manufacturers.
That design of the new Skyline is an Infiniti with the Nissan logo. It’s a shame how little originality some brands show when designing new models.
To be fair, the Skyline in Japan is/was the Infiniti G35 and G37 anyway. But yeah, your point is still there.
Both those cars had excellent styling. This thing looks like a modernized Altima to me.
Infiniti is North American badge engineering of Nissan. The Skyline is not strictly the GTR variant. GTR was a trim, not a dedicated model, prior to the R35. Even still, you can see the G-coupe body lines in the R35. After the R34 Skyline generation came the V35 in 2001. Check out the V36 (2006) and V37 (2014) Skylines as well and you'll see they have been "Infinitis with a Nissan badge" for 25 years
Damn skyline you ugly!
It looks like one of those ugly Mercedes sedans. No no no.
It’s a more affordable Q50 Red at best. They should focus on a new Nissan version of the FX.
