That’s the thing about “common sense”, it’s usually wrong.
In my experience, common sense just means they didnt want to hurt their dumb brain too hard thinking of any repercussions or problems that could result. Its basically simpleton speak.
Usually its stuff like "duhhroyrr, we got duh gas at da station and da gas car, why would I wanna have a battery? Ya can't fill up a battery wit gas! Its common sense!"
Or
"Duuhhr deres 2 genders boy and girl, it's common sense!"
For me, the whole “common sense” rhetoric just means ignore the experts.
