‘Science needs defending’: record number of researchers run for office in US mid-terms

I hope scientists go into politics in the 2020s like evangelicals did on the 1970s.

Scientists in the 40s and 50s were celebrities, heros. Salk, Sabine, Einstein, Pauling...

Today the biggest celebrity is a woman with a huge ass, and scientists are evil wizards.

Even the Republicans understood US research spending drove the economy. The rest of the world still doesn't get this.

Honestly, we've done worse. I won't say scientists will make the best leaders, but they'll do a lot better than the fools we've been electing lately.

They'd hopefully be more inclined to follow evidence
