I really feel "Ancient Egyptian" should really be reserved for the times before the Ptolemies - I was excited by the title until I realised it's all Greek to me.

Yeah this bugs me too. When Cleopatra ruled the Ptolemaic Kingdom, the Old Kingdom Pharaohs had been dead for almost 3000 years. They were more ancient to her than she is to us.

Lots of people are surprised to find out the Ptolemies were Hellenistic.
