Genuine question, what does Blizzard win on this? Turtle was way different from anything Blizzard offers. Most people i met on there hadnt played official servers for years and theyre most certainly not going back. If anything i just see more hatred for Blizzard growing?
Defending IP. It's that simple. This isn't new. If you are old enough to remember Blizzhackers you know they defend it no matter what.

How are those looking these days in terms of feature parity? I know it used to be pretty rough but its been years since I looked.
don't know, I play to have fun. that's details I don't overly pay attention too. it works, that's what I care about.
Actually never heard of that but will look into it. I get that its IP related but cant see any "profits" in any other sense 🤷
