“This is an okay movie for aeronmelon to watch at the age of eight.” - My parents

A Disney movie with a cute robot? What could go wrong.

Oh but I did enjoy that. At that age, I liked VINCENT more than R2. Even R2 can’t duel-wield blasters.

This movie sucks as an adult, I can't imagine just how bored to tears an eight yo would be. Seems like they spent a ridiculous amount of money on exposition, and not nearly enough on writers. The actual content of this movie could easily be reduced to a third of the runtime.

I saw this in the theater as a little kid, and loved it. Saw it again on vhs years later as a not-so-little kid, and loved it.

Enough so that I had one of those record books (where you had a 45 that played while you read the book) of it, plus some other iterations as well.

It's been a while since I watched it last, and I still enjoyed it. Maybe not as much as when a little kid, but I think the movie doesn't get the kind of appreciation it deserves
