I can't believe you got an snes mouse to run.......and that's the end of that sentence.

I remember playing mario paint. I remember the biggest frustration was the mouse.

That makes me wonder how Mario Paint would play on an emulator, on pc, with a modern optical mouse.

Or if you have a Switch with an online subscription, Mario Paint is included with the SNES games, and you can plug in any USB mouse.

It's been a while since I had Nintendo's online service. Mostly because it provides no value to me. Gotta say, while I'm glad it's there, I would not subscribe to the service just for Mario Paint.

Username doesn't check out.

I think it runs, not sure how to setup though

The most frustrating accessory ever...

I can't remember how well it worked as a mouse, but "Mario paint" felt the same as any PC paint.

Playing single player using a mouse in one slot and a gamepag in the other hand could have been amazing.

But even just "point and click" or strategy game.

The mouse was great just a giant waste and that's why it was so frustrating

Such is the Nintendo way.

I still have my Donkey Konga bongos.

I got that before I even had a PC mouse. It blew my mind.

LIIIIINUUUUUX!!!!!

Lesser grade but similar emulation thing that surprised me:

Play a DS or 3DS rom.

Set up the dual screen config.

Second screen is a map or inventory or drawing area?

Just poke the screen.

At least the OLED Deck: yep, its all a touchscreen.

The LCD deck is also a touchscreen...

Oh!

I did not know that.

They're functionally the same, the oled though has a better screen and a bit better cooling so probably performs ever so slightly better in certain scenarios. And I think slightly better battery life.

Yeah, I did know that the OLED variant does have a slightly larger capacity battery and a tweaked bit of the ... basically the power management component/system in the mobo... and yeah, it has slightly different internal dimensions and layout in some respects, I've had to pick between OLED and LED variants for a few aftermarket upgrade kits I've gotten.

I just did not realize the LCD was also touchscreen, derp.

But yes, broadly speaking, very very similar in all other respects.

I've never been very creative, but I loved playing the flyswatter game inside Mario Paint.

Did you know that the remade mouse for thea500 has no ball but optical sensor? 😁

I mean yeah there's stuff you can do but I wouldn't go back. But you said so yourself.

Anyhow, cool stuff. There are astonishing things one can do!
