pourquoi pas les deux?
Is this real? Seems fake. But having said that, is it the French-Indian war that the poster/king is talking about? Not sure what else would lead to N America speaking french. Outside of that, seems an odd arguement anyway, since it was the UK's colony at the time, not a sovereign nation.
I've put too much thought into this, me thinks.
also, the Seven Years' War
I get the involvement of France there, but don't see how either would lead to the US speaking French. I could see a Canada situation with the purchase, as there would be more French speakers. But even there, UK had no involvement with that, as it was Napoleon's focus on Europe that led him to sell the land to the US, so he could continue his conquests. The Revolutionary War wouldn't have led to speaking French regardless of the outcome. UK wins, we're still speaking English. We did win, and did not lead to us speaking French.
Aside from that, having not done a google, is that something the King actually said?
Well, you wouldn't be speaking English if there was no England to create the language.
You wouldn't be speaking if there wasn't language. Checkmate, atheists.
You might need to go back to the Seven Years War (AKA, The French and Indian War).
The comment from the king is fake.
Francophile > Anglophile
"Yeah if not for France, US would be speaking english."
"Wait US already already speaks english."
"Oh he said french nevermind."
"Wait what is he referencing then?"
- My thoughts within last 30 seconds. My brain went to King Charles of France.
