Then why are they buying “products, product packaging, or commercial waste containing plastics?” The solution to plastics has been out decades ago .
No we pay others to the ship it half way around the world to then ship the waste products from it half way around the world.
In the UK at least (I'd assume it's true across all Europe but I don't have the data) there has been a huge drive from companies to reduce the amount of packaging overall and to change the matei of remaining packaging away from plastic. It's the absolute minimum countries should be doing.
