Huh. I seem to remember that in later strips, it was Andy who 'always won.' Could be misremembering, though.
I saw a comment elsewhere about that, maybe it changed in later years.
I wanna say that their IQ's sort of flipped, over the years. The old trope of the 'superior, man-in-charge' was also giving way fast at the time, and I suspect that Amend got wise to that and retooled the strip over time, not just in those terms, but in several other ways.
That said, it's really impressive to me how good this strip was right from the start.
I have not read the strip in years, and I remember Jason, Peter, and Paige way more than I remember anything about mom and dad. Bill did make many changes to everything over the years. Look at the faces between the OG stuff and his current stuff.

Mate, I really appreciate you starting up this strip. It was one of my old faves, yet I'd kinda forgotten about it. Do you use a scheduler to post? (I do in my communities)

Nope. All of my posts are done by hand each morning. My Addams Family posts I do the history write up usually on Monday or Tuesday while eating breakfast, copy everything to my notes app. The Hello Cthulhu I replace the text for the next strip when I get time at my laptop. Everything else I do while feeding my cats in the morning, which happens right after waking up, hence the mistake I make, as some mornings I do not even put on my glasses.
I also usually do not pre read anything until I am posting. However with the missing Foxtrot (no Sundays on gocomics) I have started checking that and The boondocks. m_f provided me with all of Outland months before I started that.
Damn...
