Julie Bishop bows to pressure, resigning as ANU chancellor
1mon 10d ago by aussie.zone/u/Dimand in canberra@aussie.zone from www.abc.net.auYou won't be missed. Don't come back and take the rest of the appointed council with you.
Long overdue.
The council said it had agreed pro-chancellor Larry Marshall would act as chancellor until a permanent appointment was made.
I assume that means a supporter of Julie Bishop? Alright then: do it again, ANU. Power to people.
Larry is indeed on the naughty list in the widespread staff sentiment.
I hope the external committee to appoint a new chancellor acts quickly and whoever they choose works to implement the needed governance reform as their top priority.
If that occurs, I don't expect any of the remaining appointed council to remain very long.
It will take someone big to fill ANU’s vacancy.
I saw a comment on this somewhere:
"Good to know anus opening up to a fresh approach"
