Just arrived: royal green hojari frankincense from Smokewalkers

Really impressed with the packaging and price. Some super fresh tears here too; I had actually hoped they would be a bit older so that they'd be easier to process!

Mixed with a little castor oil, shea butter, frankincense and myrrh are a super silky, super nourishing skin experience that smells delightful. But castor oil (should be cold pressed) makes hair grow so one should be aware.

The smoke from the incense also smells nice, but I have to leave the house and come back after the smoke dissipates.

Do you have a formula that you could share?

I plan to use most of this in incense sticks. It always feels like a travesty putting these beautiful tears in a coffee grinder though!

Nah. I tend to dump stuff together until I get something I like or store buy. I'm currently on a 7 day work week while also being part time. Before that I was midshift, so sleep/rest are paramount. The homemade stuff is messy and without preservatives, you can only make enough for a couple of days. You can also sub coconut oil for castor oil for a lighter lotion. I just melt the coconut oil in a glass bowl in hot water (glass cleans easier too), and start dumping stuff in until the consistency is something I like. But grinding resins with a mortar and pestle is a LOT of work, unless you wrap in something sturdy enough to pound, first.

this is the best kind IMHO; i know there are many types of frankincense but i got a hold of some of this Omani green stuff and it was otherworldly, i'm trying to dissolve it into ethanol so i can wear it as a fragrance

The same people also distill an oil from it. They sell hydrosol too.

Oh awesome- I will check them out!!

That looks so good.
