So... Is the investigation system just gone? Because that was my favorite mechanic of the game. If I wanted to play Resident Evil, I'd get Resident Evil. ☹️
Speaking of the first game, did you finish it now? Would you recommend it?
Haven't finished it quite yet but I am fairly close to the end and would definitely recommend it. Combat is a little annoying, but the investigation part is pretty cool. I play it in the harder difficulty that does not mark anything or tell you what goes where, so you really need to pay attention with addresses, names, events and such when you go to search things up at the various information desks (like going to the police station to check police records or the newspaper archive to find relevant news articles). Every investigation comes with a choice at the end, and those choices have weight to them that will change the world/story. Like you can botch it and not find enough info to make the right choice or even have the choice if all you find only points in one direction, so it is absolutely vital to really scour the entire scene and every lead you find to make sure you find all the information you can.
Sounds interesting! There aren't all that many true detective games out there where you actually have to make deductions yourself. I'll keep an eye out for a sale!
