I am not really a fan of using "commie". Firstly, because MLs arent really communists and secondly, it might include ancoms or eurocoms like me. Plus "commie" is usually used by rabid anticommunists/right wingers.

Last time I checked, MLs never achieved communism and tend to try to take out any competition and dissidents before turning on each other.
Also calling ancoms and eurocoms reactionary is pretty daft coming from a ML.
Anarchist never achieved communism or even anarchism either. Eurocom is literally a reactionary movement built to break the communist movement separate from eastern bloc by western parties. There is no form of communism specific to europe that you call it eurocom. Its just libsoc or demsoc that those party championed and even they abandoned it, no such party exists today. Anarchism is a movement that can be crushed by reactionary forces even with slight organization, do you think something anarchic wouldve survived anything like nazi invasion? lol. Its hilarious how people even consider this ideology serious when most marxists discarded it in the first Internationale itself (including co founder of marxism engels). Anarchism is a first world ideology mostly popular among western white people, its practically non existent in third world and here we have ML parties with thousands of members waging revolution against the bourgeoisie states.
Anarchism managed to at least do it on a small localized lived. "Real existing socialist" states only get more oppressive the longer they exist.
And Eurocommunism is just when you take Titoism and realize that it is a dick move to try to suppress other socialists and dissidents.

Anarchism is so stupid man, how the hell will you defend it from imperialist forces??? Like its overtly a first world ideology with mostly westerners following it, non existent in third world. You can disagree with certain elements of USSR and recognize it was a genuine attempt towards socialism while not perfect but something to build upon.

NGL, saw a post the other day about rimu stepping back from some of the posting etc to focus more on development. Which certainly would have been the right thing to do. And this the wrong thing. Though I don't think I would fault him completely.
I'd say that in the long run all he managed to really accomplish with this was to create a few martyrs. But a number of the ones that he banned had been somewhat obnoxious and very vocal about their disagreement with the way he was developing things. There'd been a lot of bad faith accusations against him too.
Frankly I'm not all too keen on a lot of the filtering Etc that he's setting up often times by default. Even if it can be disabled. It would be better for people to opt into if they really wanted it. Having checkboxes or Fields directly in the setup or settings to turn them on and off rather than obscure text files somewhere in the hierarchy.
I think there's definitely a lot of drama AstroTurf going on around this subject and possibly others.
You can see all the hardcore tankies playing cheerleaders under each of the many posts accusing Rimu of stuff too. They really hate piefed and I have no doubts they were stirring shit up in the background to some extent. There may be something to their grievances, and I'm certainly not saying the accusers are all tankies themselves, but just looking at the comments together with some dishonest details in the posts themselves was enough for me to leave quokk.au yesterday.
I just hope this blows over in time, unlikely as it is.
For many of them this is as close as they will ever get to being able to point the finger at others for doing what they're known for. They feel it justifies them instead of making them hypocrites.
Not all people in the screenshot are tankies (or, at least, known to me), but some are. And those are probably the most vocal and annoying of them.
I'm not talking about the screenshot, but the bunch of threads aimed at Rimu I saw in the past week or two. Mostly on PTB at db0

is that why that STAMENTS do had a freakout over his mental health a few months ago, i remember him complaining about the main PIEFED instances. although he has mentla issue he shouldve taken care of, instead of going on lemmy.
I really don't know much about the staments situation other than them moving to db0. But there has been a lot of astroturfed drama around piefed. Every time I look into what's being shouted about there's almost never anything to it. Or it's wild hyperbole. I could see how it would push those terminally online to bad places.
