More Layoffs coming to Bungie. Destiny 3 not being worked on.

This should be a gift link.

Not surprising at all when you plan to stop supporting one of the two live games you’re making.

After several rounds of mass layoffs I hope Bungie leadership never gets work again.

Sony is the king of bad decisions lately.

Buying Bungie for $3.6 billion and hedging their bet on live service games.

Supporting the weaker of the two games that Bungie develops.

Announcing that all first player titles will only be on PlayStation consoles going forward.

Jacking up the price of PlayStation Plus.

As much as I never wanted to participate in Marathon because it doesn't appeal to me, I really won't support it now. It was the cause of Destiny's demise. And why would I support another live service game from Bungie when they couldn't support the live service game they already had? And now they're going to lay off a whole bunch of people and expect great support for marathon? What a fucking joke.

I'm not surprised that Bungie didn't listen to the community when it said to support Destiny more than Marathon. When has Bungie ever listened to the community?

The community: give us a ping system.

Bungie: no.

The community: give us a clan social space.

Bungie: no.

The community: Give us wrath of the machine in Destiny 2.

Bungie: no.

The community: bring back Siva.

Bungie: no.

The community: give us SRL in Destiny 2.

Bungie: no. Actually on second thought, we'll give you that one but it's the last thing you'll fucking get.

All in all, I'm extremely disappointed. What an absolutely shitty way to end the franchise.

They’ve really dropped the ball. Destiny was so good. They could have kept building upon D1. D2 had its moments but never really found that same momentum. From the archiving of paid for content (which is still on sale!?) and shit season mechanics (use X to combat Y, etc ) they really f fumbled a beloved IP that could have gone down as one of the greats. We’ll never know the true story behind it all. And we’ll never know how the world came to be or ends up. They’ve written themselves into a corner with the story and it’s miserable.

Unfortunately, most of those leaders had already cashed out a long time ago. They don't give two shits about what happens to that company now. Most of the talent that Bungie is new any way. They're not the same people that gave us Halo or Destiny. Very few of those people remain.
