Back in Vietnam, got a new bike for basically what I sold my old one for.

looks wicked! I'd give anything to move and live out my days in Vietnam and own a bike like that.
Lots of tourists come here and buy a bike, selling it when they leave, if you can put aside a couple weeks, 200-800USD for the bike (you'll get back half to all your money when you sell), 5-20 USD/day depending on accommodation, 4-10 USD/day/person food.
Bikes are cheaper in Hanoi than HCMC, and cheaper at the end of the tourist season when the rental agencies sell, and esp cheap now with the price of gas encouraging switch to electrics.
