Definitely adds to the comedy of the character to realize he was playing a joking version of himself. A promising player who got injured, glad to see the real version gets another shot at it too
One of the best series ever on TV. I was sad when it ended, but ever grateful that they didn't ruin it by trying to milk it's popularity to death.

I believe the actress who plays Rebecca said it’s like visiting the grave of your favorite pet, then exhuming the corpse to play fetch.
