No. API functionality continues as normal. We value the developer community and will continue supporting the ecosystem around Last.fm.

Never used last.fm before. Wasn’t it a music streaming service? Do I need a separate subscription to listen to music now?
It's for scrobbling (tracking what music you listen to) and giving recommendations
