Your best is enough

Is it mentally healthy to have hope? Yes. Is it mentally healthy to have irrational validation of insufficiency? No. It's circumstantial, but you must do better than the minimum criteria for basic success.

There's also something about this that just feels very invalidating. Like someone telling you that your need to eat and have a roof over your head isn't important.

I hope that you do not take this the wrong way, but I am glad that you do not understand this. I hope that you never have to.:-)

But if I'm not getting something done that needs to be done, despite my best efforts. Then by definition I'm not enough. I must improve/get better, so that my best would be enough to get, whatever task it was that i failed, done to a satisfactory degree.

You know what? You're right. I don't have to burn it all down. Even just a little fire is good. I should just do my best.

Now be me with ADHD and have to work twice as hard to get half as far in life. -_-

If always do your best, look back at cringe moment but not regret. Because did best, cannot do better.
