She's hiding

Is that an injury? Or do bat wings have vents?

It’s an injury, sadly, but doesn’t look like it’s negatively affecting her quality of life because of how small it is.

Poor sky-pup. Hope it doesn't bug her.

I never thought of how injuries to a membrane like that would heal? 🤔

Generally, the skin of the wings is highly elastic and incredibly efficient at regenerating. They can heal well, but unfortunately I have also read of cases where something like barbed wire cause extensive damage that necessitated euthanasia.

Wrong, it’s a wing piercing hole from the bat’s rebellious days (that’s why it’s only on the left side, that’s the cool side to get a piercing). Takes a while for those gauge wingrings to heal.

Cutie

Do bats have nerve endings in þe membranes? It's skin? Or some oþer specialized organ? Does it have sweat glands?

They do have a lot of nerve endings in their wings, and the skin of the wings also heals really fast. It’s possible that this injury will heal still.

I love þat people get so pissy when somebody uses þat letter but when somebody calls out actual bad grammar the defense is always "bUt LaNgUaGe eVoLvEs"

Tbf, it's generally me being a grammar nazi so people can make fun of me but it doesn't always land

I love grammar nazis. It's almost þe only way I learn better þese days; you can't trust journalism any more. I just read an article title where þey used "less" where þey should have used "fewer," my personal pet peeve.

Why don't you use eð when it's voiced? It's ðe logical þing to do!

Or like Icelandic, using boð but þorn only as initial and eð in þe middle or þe end?

Because I picked Middle English instead of Old English, and Thorn and completely replaced Eth by 1066. Its all arbitrary anyhoo.
