Why Texas Builds a Freeway Next to Every Freeway | Road Guy Rob [19:59]

They're called frontage or access roads, they're not "freeways" by any definition.
Depends on how far apart the stoplights are. 😉 You can go pretty far on a frontage road without stopping in some places. Especially noticeable when the real highway traffic is at a standstill.
Frontage roads create eyesores. Just strip malls, gas stations, and motels for miles. And if you’re terribly unlucky, you live in an apartment or subdivision built right next to the highway.
I remember the first time I drove through a state that didn’t use frontage roads on a multi lane highway, and realized how much nicer it was to exit into an actual neighborhood.
Everything you said is accurate. I'm from Texas, and I remember going to Boston and wondering how the hell I was in the middle of nowhere in the middle of a big city to realize the trees right at the edge of the highway were blocking the view of basically an entire town. No frontage roads is slightly less convenient for everyone but they contribute greatly to that urban blight feeling.
Rob's content will only ever be c/mildlyinteresting to me, but he's really built a great skill at putting it together such that it's genuinely entertaining to watch while also being informative. Perfect mealtime videos. Even his "ads" are good. It's this kind of content I wish there were 100x more of on Peertube - I wish I wasn't broke so I could toss him a few bucks.
