A lot of the really good stuff is later in the post so hang in there if 'readable css classes' does not get you interested.

I don't use Mastodon much, but when I do, it always feels to me pretty functional and consistent UI/UX-wise on both desktop and mobile browsers. Also pretty fast despite an app site - I think that was the term for a site that opens pages without leaving the current page.
