Jakarta - Social media has been abuzz after the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) posted an incorrect image of the Garuda in commemoration of Pancasila Day. BRIN has apologized for the post. Initially, BRIN’s X account posted an image of the Garuda to commemorate Pancasila Day on Monday (June 1, 2026) morning. However, the post drew protests from netizens.

The issue was that the Garuda image uploaded by BRIN was deemed inconsistent with the standard depiction—specifically, the number of feathers on the Garuda’s wings and tail was incomplete. BRIN reportedly designed the Garuda image using artificial intelligence (AI).
