Pig Rescued After Getting Tusk Stuck In Fence

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. A pig named Edgar was rescued after getting one of his tusks stuck in a fence, according to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.

The agency said its Animal Law Enforcement officers responded to a Colorado Springs home during the week of Monday, May 25, after a neighbor reported that Edgar was trapped.

Officers found the pig caught on the fence by one of his tusks. They first tried to free him with bolt cutters, but were unable to get him loose.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department was then called to the home with stronger equipment. Firefighters helped Animal Law Enforcement officers cut Edgar free from the fence.

Edgar’s owners returned home shortly after the rescue and were reunited with him. The Humane Society said Edgar was not seriously hurt.

“Huge thanks to our Animal Law Enforcement officers and Colorado Springs Fire Department for helping animals in need, even when the call sounds like the setup to a joke someone made up at dinner,” said HSPPR.
