This is for the new God of War game they showed yesterday where you play as Kratos’ deceased wife.
Utterly predictable response TBH. What’s funny about this particular comment is that Alfred is arguably just as capable as Batman. The average gamer culture warrior not only doesn’t have media literacy, he just hasn’t read the material.
Wasn't Alfred like SAS or a British Intelligence Officer? I'd 1000℅ play a game with him as a protagonist.
Yeah I think that’s his backstory. There’s comic panels where Alfred straight up says he’s not Batman and he’ll kill people if he has to.

HBO did a three season show starring Alfred in a wildly stylized 1960s called Pennyworth. Was a pretty fun ride.
The only thing I know about that show is that they soft-retitled it in season 3 to be "Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman's Butler".
I'm no Batman buff, but I think that's a more recent version. In the older versions, he bordered on doddering, to the point where Batman had to keep him out of trouble.

Not to give The Gamers any benefit of the doubt, but (to me) the main reason the new GoW works is that it's interesting to see Kratos live with all the shit he did in the previous games, so I think any character would have trouble replacing him.
Though, to be fair, after two giant ass games hammering that point, it got old.

Yeah idk, I don't care that Faye is back — Ragnarok was dumb and nothing they do will salvage the shit storytelling in that game.
If you for some reason liked Ragnarok's story, I'm sure this game will be enjoyable for you.
