They are cute!
I've encountered a number of gartersnakes over the years and almost always found them very pleasant and pretty.
One day I found this little one in my garden that was darker than all the others I had seen. I'm not sure what type it is, but this one took a strike at me right after this photo, which I've never had happen before.
Still a snake fan and I pet our corn snake ambassador at the open house this past weekend.
