I have a boomer friend who talks about "documentaries" about aliens. What hope is there for that generation.

Sure, but I think boomers have a general trust of media since they grew up with only three television networks staffed by trusted experts and authorities.
The idea that an entire media landscape is completely full of lies is something they can't fathom.
Meanwhile, younger generations are growing up with AI-generated images of them naked passed around school. They're too familiar with distrusting what they see.
