Sandwiches globally vs in Germany

That's not a sandwich, that's a Stulle

If it makes the Germans feel any better, Polish sandwiches are equally sad.

Dann mache ich das in Deutschland falsch. Meine sehen eher nach der linken Seite aus.

Now do belegetes brot.

I got laughed at one time at breakfast in Germany trying to make a sandwich. Little did I know...

"The one on the left, that's what I would call a chicken sandwich. I'd call the one on the right 'poverty.'"

That's why baguettes / barras de pan are objectively superior - you simply can't make a sad looking sandwich with them the way you can with a slice of bread :D

Jambon-Beurre has entered the chat?

And it still tastes better than the paper bread on the left.

absolutely not

Same in the Netherlands. You get a single slice of cheese or ham. The two shall never meet.

In Norway, we'd remove the top slice of bread. And as long as the bread is good you don't need more than a little cheese or meat as garnish.

IDK man I remember some good ones from the last time I was in Germany
