Apple today confirmed that watchOS 27 will not support the Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Ultra (first generation), or Apple Watch SE (second generation), effectively drawing a line at devices equipped with the S9 or S10 chip. The only Apple Watch models compatible with watchOS 27 are the Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, Series 11, Ultra 2, Ultra 3, and SE 3. The cuts are the biggest loss of latest generation software support for the Apple Watch to date.
Apple dropped support for a $1k watch that’s only 4 years old meanwhile the humble $25 Pinetime has been supported for 6 years with more updates to come.
I got more than that from my Moto 360.
Was it actually supported for 11 years?

Being android wear 1, I think it was Google who started killing it off. It was ok until you had to get a new phone, at which point you had to side load Google services to the watch via adb if I remember right.
I replaced the battery a few times over those years. I've given up on it now.
